Q: What is the best climate for my aloes?
A: There are aloes species in a wide range of climates.  From cold high mountains to deserts.  The aloe would have evolved to fit the conditions of  its natural location.   Hybrids have a wider range of tolerance.  Choose aloe species to fit your needs.

Q: What is the average time it takes for aloes to grow into a full, blooming plant?
A: This will differ.  Larger aloes take longer before it reach the blooming stage than smaller aloes

Q: What soil conditions should I provide?
A: Most aloes can tolerate normal garden conditions.  Drainage is very important.   Bury rocks (some dolomite if possible) around the roots. Most aloes on my list do well in basic soil.  They grow very well when mature manure is added to the soil.                                                                   Please go to Tips & Advice   for more information on aloes and seeds.
