First cat out of all the cats of all breeds on South African Cat Councel shows for the cat of the year 2000

The cats are not judged against each other at the cat shows, but on the standard for the cat breeds. The judges compare each cat to the particular standard of that breed and the one most closely meeting the requirements of the breed will be the winner.

At the end of the cat show year the best cats of the different show regions are nominated and they compete at the cat of the year show.
