The "Secrets" Of The Internet.
By Martin Cargill
************************
Almost everyone who gets involved with Internet Marketing
starts off in the same way.
They are attracted to some offer (often hair-brained!!)
and send away their hard-earned money, because they
expect to be told the "secret" of making BIG MONEY on
the net.
"The 'insiders' must have some secrets that they keep to
themselves", the newbies reason, "look at all the people
who made millions within a few weeks of getting started."
"All I have to do is pay a few bucks, advertise a little
and collect all the money that comes in."
This reasoning isn't quite as foolish as it seems to
those of us who've been around for a while.
All those ads where a 12 year old kid in New Zealand,
or an Eskimo living in Greenland or an ex bag boy
(all three of these examples showed up in my e-mail
during the last week alone) made a fortune by stumbling
across the "secret" to fame and fortune promote this
type of rationale.
If it were just the $10 or $20 to buy the "secret" it
probably wouldn't be so bad. I'm sure that after the
third or fourth attempt the penny would drop, and the
purchaser would realise exactly what he'd just bought!!
The larger problem is the money wasted by advertising
and promoting these offers and the degree of disillusion-
ment bred in the would-be millionaires.
How many people quit the business, or refuse to even
consider spending their money on a solid offer, when
it comes their way.
So, we all lose.
That's why I'm going to tell you the "secret" of making
it on the Internet. Not for "only $10" or even "a measly
$20" or even "for pennies a day" - it's FREE!!
There is no secret!!
Everyone in Internet Marketing knows that the only way
to make money on the web, is the old fashioned way.
You have to "pay your dues". By which I mean, you have
to start with a thorough understanding of what marketing
is. You need to learn how to:
1...Identify Your Target Market
2...Develop A Marketing Plan
3...Prepare A Budget For Your Promotion
4...Develop Your Ad Campaign
5...Prepare Your Web Site
6...Prepare Any Other Direct Sales Material
7...Establish A Merchant Account For Visa/Mastercard.
After all this you're close to being ready. You still
have to:
1...Obtain any Federal/State/Municipal Permits Required
2...Set Up A Bookeeping System
3...Establish A Filing System
Get the idea. First learn as much as you can about the
business. Subscribe to newsletters and ezines and READ
them!! You can always unsubscribe to any that don't fill
your needs.
Notice that in order to fulfill the learning requirements
you don't have to spend a single penny.
If after all this learning, you are still attracted to a
system developed by a Hottentot tribesman, whilst herding
his goats in the Serengeti, at least you will have a
fighting chance of making some money out of the deal.
