Jorian was not the only stud to loose his glorious tail.  It is the first time in 7 years (since we have Enigma) that he shed so much hair that we can see his white undercoat.  He kept a little more hair on his tail than Jorian and his undercoat is more obvious as his coat is black.  The fact is this was a long hot summer.

Enigma before

Enigma after summer.  It is obvious why he prefers not to pose for any photos at this stage

Enigma's color is "black smoke".  We are used to see him in his long  glossy black coat, but the white "smoke" of the underpelt showing unevenly under the black coat is also attractive.   His tail is not nice but then the summer tails of long hair cats in South Africa are usually not much to look at,    unless the air conditioner where the cat lives is running 24/7.  That is not necessary for the cat as such and not practical now that the country has an electricity shortage crisis.

The girls did not loose as much hair as the boys.  I wonder why?  Smaller body thus cooler?  Not as active?
