made in Africa aloes from seeds

With different aloe plants you can have flowers throughout the year.

aloe photo gallery 1   A-H         Here are photos of aloes that are easy to grow

Aloes are succulent plants that need very little water with little maintanance for the aloe garden

Combine aloes and other succulent and/or caudiciform plants for a water saving, xeriscape and low maintanance aloe garden
A.framesii is the only aloe on this page that comes from the winter rainfall area along the western coast. It is sensitive to frost.
Although all the other aloe species are from the summer rainfall area,   the aloes adjusted to our winter rainfall without a problem.
Having said that, we do not get frost.  Frost on aloes in wet conditions are very bad - very few will survive.
Keep in mind that A. asperiflora is a desert aloe from Namibia and it should be kept dry with minimum water.
All succulent plants need good drainage and all on this page need basic soil.
It  is easy to cultivate these aloes in normal garden growing conditions.
Watch out for any sign of ants.  They carry the aphids into the rosette and that is a very quick way to loose an aloe to  rot.
