| Keep in mind that aloes are succulents. We
cultivate the aloe plants on this page in basic soil. |
| Aloe mitriformis comes from a winter rainfall area
and it is the only one on this page to flower in summer. |
| All other species are from summer rainfall and all
adjusted to our winter rainfall without problem. |
| Aloe littoralis comes from an area where cold frost
occur where it flowers early in autumn before frost strike. |
| These aloes can stand light frost when dry - however
the blooms (racemes) may be damaged. |
| Watch out for any sign of ants.
They carry the aphids into the rosette and that is a very quick way to loose an aloe
to rot. |
