When two different aloe species combine to form an aloe hybrid, the resulting genes end up with a wider range of options, thus making it easier for the aloe hybrid plant to adjust to cultivation and growing conditions. e.g. in the aloe succulent garden.
The genes of an aloe species carry the information how to grow, when to bloom, growing conditions - in fact -  information on all aspects of the aloe plant's life.
Often  hybridizing  improves the aloe plant,  the flower and/or   the length of the time an aloe is in bloom.
The opposite may also be true in that the conditions clash and the resulting aloe hybrid plants are not viable or do not produce seeds, but that is no problem as those aloe hybrids are easy to spot and they are eliminated from the aloe hybrid program.

Here are some hybrids that have been successful.

Aloes are succulent plants, also known as fatplants. Given the right conditions they can be grown as a houseplant or as a potplant in the garden or greenhouse.

Information on the hybrids

Aloe marlothii improves the flower .  It does make large rosettes and add some thorns, but it does not dominate the plant shape.
Aloe ferox improves the flower, but not quite to the extend as marlothii and it does not make such heavy rosettes.

Aloe arborescens.  This fast grower with a very nice conical raceme has been cultivated in an assortment colors. It hybrids very easy and the hybrids are fast growers. The long thin stem and bush type of growth with many pups is very dominant in most of the the Aloe arborescens hybrids.   Most if not all the racemes of the hybrids are conical like Aloe arborescens racemes.

The species above are hardy easy growing plants, a characteristic which is passed on to the hybrids.
