Aloe castanea  is a tree aloe with long snaking racemes. This aloe is a  good focus point for the water saving garden

Aloe castanea is a small tree aloe easy to grow from seeds.  It has a single stem with one or two  branches higher up.
The rosette of the  Aloe castanea plant is large and neat.   
The small orange-brown flowers are densely packed on long graceful curving racemes.  The nectar is visible.
A fast growing aloe that will be a worthwhile addition to any garden including water saving gardens, succulent or xeriscape gardens
Aloes are succulent plants, also known as fatplants. Even large tree aloes can be grown in pots or containers.  Aloes need very little soil around the roots.
