| This succulent aloe tree has a wide distribution and plants vary. Resistance to frost will depend on the area from where the Aloe ferox plant originates. Aloe ferox is not a very sensitive plant but the flowers may be damaged by frost. |
| Aloe ferox flower in winter.. The racemes are large and the dense flowers are mainly shades of orange or red. White and yellow forms of this aloe occur. |
| Aloe candelabrum is now included with ferox. The racemes of Aloe candelabrum are longer and the leaves seems to be longer and not as heavy as the leaves of Aloe ferox. |
