Aloe littoralis  from South Africa

This beautiful tree aloe is easy to grow from seed and it can withstand frost.

The young Aloe littoralis plant is blue-green  with the blue changing to grey as the plant grows to  3-4 meters in height

The relative large cream colored spots are mainly on the leaves of  young Aloe littoralis plants, disapearing as the plant age.

The Aloe littoralis plant on the photo bottom left,  is growing in a garden where it receives extra water and care on a guest-farm.
The large A.littoralis photo bottom right is growing in natural conditions in the botanical garden of Windhoek, Namibia.

Aloes are succulent plants, also known as fatplants. Given the right conditions they can be grown as a houseplant or as a potplant in the garden or greenhouse.

Aphids/ants:-  You may wash the plants with a dish washing liquid that contains lemon, but in the case of damage, where there are already a lot of aphids, it will be necessary to use a poison in powder form.  The danger of rot is high, keep the plant dry.
