Aloe marlothii  from South Africa

  Aloe marlothii is a hardy, heavy aloe with horizontal racemes of  even more impressive than the spiny leaves. 
Growth seems slow as Aloe marlothii tends to put on weight rather than height, reaching   2m -  3m in height
The succulent plant Aloe marlothii flowers in winter.  The color of the flowers can be solid or bi-color in orange and red and the rare red/white bi-color.
Aloe marlothii improves flower density  in the hybrids
Aloes are succulent plants, also known as fatplants. Given the right conditions they can be grown as a houseplant or as a potplant in the garden or greenhouse.

This plant is very thirsty with turned up leaves to protect it   against the sun.
As soon as the summer rains begin the marlothii will fill out and  
open up, with no ill effects.

Aphids/ants:-  You may wash the plants with a dish washing liquid that contains lemon, but in the case of damage, where there are already a lot of aphids, it will be necessary to use a poison in powder form.  The danger of rot is high, keep the plant dry.
