Aloe marlothii - hybrids  (South Africa)

Aloe marlothii usually improves the flowers of the hybrid.  The size and weight of  the rosette leans more toward aloe marlothii than the other hybrid partner.  Like most hybrids the resulting plant is strong  and the racemes and flowers are  very interesting.
Aloes are succulent plants, also known as fatplants. These plants save water and given the right conditions they can be grown as a houseplant or as a potplant in the garden or greenhouse.

Aloe marlothii x Aloe mutans

The hybrid is relative large for a maculated aloe hybrid.
The plant had a stem 50 cm tall before a car toppled it over.  The rosette grew upwards again  but for some reason the stem remain short now.
The inflorescence of A.marlothii x A.mutans  is large and branched with long lasting , orange tipped with green flowers, shading to yellow as it opens.

The size of the rosette and inflorescens tend to be large like Aloe marlothii but not as heavy. The shape of the rosette resemble Aloe globuligemma  with recurving leaves.

Aphids/ants:-  You may wash the plants with a dish washing liquid that contains lemon, but in the case of damage, where there are already a lot of aphids, it will be necessary to use a poison in powder form.  The danger of rot is high, keep the plant dry.
