Aloe mawii  (Malawi Southern Africa)

Aloe mawii with bright red large flowers on a horizontal raceme is from Malawi
but it grows readily in garden conditions, even in the winter rainfall area at  the far south of South Africa.
The plant does not form offshoots or suckers and grows to a height of  2 meter.
A.mawii is not frost resistant but  it may survive short dry cold spells in the protection of a garden.
It is hardy and a fast grower with no special skills needed to keep this plant happy.
Aloes are succulent plants, also known as fatplants. These plants save water and given the right conditions they can be grown as a houseplant or as a potplant in the garden or greenhouse.
