Aloe rubroviolaceae    (Yemen  Arabia)

Aloe rubroviolaceae is a hardy short stemmed aloe

This aloe has broad pale green leaves which forms a large rosette on a short stem. The flowers are pink shading to red.
Aloe rubroviolaceae grows in the mountains of west Arabia in harsh conditions, which explains why it has no trouble to grow in our very dry hot summers.   It seems to have no problem with the wet winters in the winter rain climate either.

The raceme measure over 30 cm.
For comparisson - the size of the old brick is. 23 x 10 x 7 cm.

The plants are at their leanest as it is March when the first few light showers of the new rain season will start to fall.  Growing the plants "hard" is natural for them and they tend to be more resistant against rust and other maladies.
