This photo gallery is to show colourful lily flowers and succulent stapeliads with bizarre flowers which have the same needs as the aloes in the water saving garden.  The succulent stapeliad plants have very odd and interesting flowers.  They have been referred to as the orchids of the succulent plants.  The lilies have mostly bright colored flowers as well as decorative leaves.  The lilies seem fragile but most lilies are hardy and ideal for the aloe water saving garden.

Most lilies species will grow well with aloes.   Choose the lilies that fit your climate.  Some lilies loose their leaves in the dry summer months others go dormant in the cold winter months but the Amaryllis is one which will keep leaves if it is watered throughout the year - provided the winter is mild.
Plant an assortment of bulbs to bloom at different times of the year.   The aloes do not need much water so that the hardy  lilies can stay in the ground year round.
This garden is easy to care for.
