The photo below is a semi cascade bonsai tree style. The photo of the tree Rhus lancea, better known as willow rhus, was taken in the Naukluft nature reserve Namibia. This tree resembles a willow so much that the person not interested in trees might take it for a willow. The Naukluft area is on the border of the Namib Desert, but the climate is different in this isolated mountainous area with it's deep gorges, to the very dry semi-desert all round. Nature-lovers I recommend a visit to this area.

A thorn tree in semi-cascade near Usakos, Namibia.  This style which is popular in Bonsai is in perfect balance in this natural thorn tree.

Very interesting, but what style is this?
