Very few trees have a natural formal upright growth in Namibia.  The growth of trees growing in the Caprivi or Kavango  are changed or shaped by elephants as well as the climate.   These trees would be very attractive as bonsai.

Acacia albida known as Ana tree, is the largest  Acacia in Namibia  growing to 30 m high and flowering creamy white.

This tree is a good example of a formal upright bonsai style.  Photo taken near Gobabis.

The pods are very good fodder for wild and farm animals, especially horses. The trees grow readily from seeds and it is important to note that this tree is protected in South Africa.
